Salary: $23 - $25 M-F 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Essential Responsibilities

The Service Writer for the ­­­­­­­­­­­­­Production Manager is responsible for providing a full range of clerical assistance and support in the project records systems. The Service Writer is responsible for maintaining and updating documents and files related to our ongoing production projects.

Specific Responsibilities

• Performing data entry tasks.
• Maintain customer records by keeping all files organized.
• Retrieving information from the filing system when requested.
• Communicate with parts sellers and technicians to make sure everything needed is on hand.
• Answer detailed questions about services performed and price information.
• Advise the customer on the repairs recommended and offer a pricing quote.
• Schedule appointments over the phone.
• Additional administrative and support functions as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 5-7 years of Auto Mechanic Service experience/strong understanding of auto mechanics and the ability to identify appropriate repairs for vehicle problems.
• Ability to break down complicated automotive or industry topics into understandable advice meant for customer understanding.
• Parts manual knowledge.
• Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Excellent reading and language comprehension.
• Advanced computer and data entry skills; experience with Access and Excel.
• Customer service skills.

Must be able to:

• Use manual dexterity frequently
• Sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Occasionally carry, lift, pull, and push up to 25 pounds of dead weight.
• Sit and stand.
