Border Tire is hiring a Retread Associate for their new location in Redlands, CA. 

All selected candidates will have to undergo training in Corona before transferring to the new location.

• Salary: $20 per hour
• Working hours: MUST BE FLEXIBLE TO WORK EITHER SHIFT 1st Shift: 4 AM - 12:30 PM, 2nd Shift: 12:30 PM - 9 PM Training schedule is 2 weeks and may be different than the regular schedule.

• Location: Initially Corona, then Redlands, CA. 

The Retread Associate will be responsible for manufacturing tires through our assembly line and producing a finished product that meets all company expectations, and guidelines, and ensure customer satisfaction. The position functions in a manufacturing environment retread facility where commercial truck tires are retreaded through a series of manual and automated processes.

Responsibilities:

• Train for all aspects of retread tire manufacturing including inspecting and buffing tire carcasses, applying rubber compounds, curing, and quality control.
• Inspects tires to be retreaded or repaired to determine condition, repairs needed, etc.
• Operates a buffing machine to remove treads from tires to be retreaded, following specifications for depth and width of removal.
• Inspects tires to determine defects in curing, i.e. soft cures, ply separation, repairs missed, etc.
• Receive and unload supplies including tread rubber, cushion gum and repair materials, envelopes, curing rim, tire casings, rims, etc.
• Assists in distribution center activities as assigned.
• Perform routine inspection and maintenance on plant equipment following managers’ and manufacturers’ instructions.
• Maintain an organized and safe work area according to the dealership, OSHA, and EPA standards.

Qualifications:

• Requires little or no previous training or experience, but willing to be trained and work.
• Must be able to work without direct supervision.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Must be detail-oriented to always ensure accuracy and safety.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
