PBLA Surveying Inc. is a well-established surveying firm in Redlands, CA. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Basic Drafter to support our drafting team for mapping, and technical drawings for various projects.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Basic Drafter to assist with creating, modifying, and finalizing technical drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with a foundation in CAD drafting, excellent attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within the company. The Basic Drafter will collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate and high-quality deliverables.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in creating and editing 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software.

• Prepare base maps, profiles, and utility layouts for the survey.

• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and company standards.

• Work with survey data and translate field measurements into accurate CAD drawings.

• Maintain and organize project files and drawings.

• Assist in processing and integrating data from aerial/drone surveys when required.

• Collaborate with surveyors and project managers to ensure project requirements are met.

• Revise drawings based on feedback from project managers and peer reviews.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with Civil 3D is a plus).

• Basic understanding of surveying concepts.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to company drafting standards and procedures.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Knowledge of utility mapping and pole profiling.
