Floral Design and Marketing Assistant

Position: Floral Design and Marketing Assistant

Type: Freelance (4–16 hours/week)

Pay Rate: Starts at $16.50/hr, pay commensurate with experience

Fern Cottage Florals is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Floral Design and Marketing Assistant to join our creative team. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about floral design and marketing who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. We're seeking someone who’s adaptable, proactive, and excited to grow with our brand.

What You’ll Do

Administrative & Marketing Support

  • Manage and create content for social media platforms, including Instagram posts and reels (must be comfortable being on camera).
  • Design marketing materials such as flyers, Instagram stories, mood boards, and newsletters using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Write SEO-informed blog posts to drive web traffic using tools like Google Keyword Planner.
  • Support general administrative tasks (e.g., picking up print orders, running errands).

Floral Design & Production

  • Process flowers and maintain inventory.
  • Clean vases, buckets, and prep materials.
  • Assist with arranging flowers for events (based on experience).
  • Occasionally shop at the Los Angeles Flower Market (as early as 3am).
  • Help with photoshoots by styling and assisting with floral presentation.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 1 year of floral design experience (required).
  • Proficiency with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (required).
  • Experience with Google Analytics, SEO, and Shopify a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional and friendly demeanor with strong customer service and networking skills.
  • Familiarity with social media trends and comfort with video content (reels, stories).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with attention to detail and creativity.
