Driver (Behavior Support Professional) with Oprac.
Salary: $17/hour
Location sites:
-San Bernardino
-Upland
-Walnut
Timing: 8:30AM - 3:30PM, Monday-Friday, (times may vary), includes a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch.
Function: Provide support, assistance, training, supervision, and transportation to adults with disabilities in a community-based setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Transport up to three assigned consumers from home to community settings utilizing
personal vehicle. Transport up to 6 consumers and 2 assigned support staff, to and from the day program daily utilizing an OPARC vehicle.
- Provide support, assistance, training, and supervision for adults with disabilities and behavioral challenges in community-based settings.
- Maintain all consumer OPARC individual program plan goals and objectives.
- Schedule and maintain activities related to OIPP on a regular basis, reporting any changes to Program Manager.
- Coordinate daily activity schedule with Program Manager
- In charge of specific elements of the program such as specific contracts in the community under the direction of the Program Manager.
- Employment site supervision and training.
- Assess and inventory work and community sites.
- Maintain needed work records (payroll, etc.)
- Assess consumer needs, maintain data on program plan progress, and provide progress notes as required.
- Safely load, unload, and tie down all wheelchair passengers.
- Ensure all passengers are wearing seatbelts properly.
- Maintain the appearance of the vehicle inside and out.
- Inspect, report, and follow up on vehicle safety and maintenance daily.
- Follow street and freeway-posted speed limits
- Follow all safety driver training guidelines.
- Implement all informal and formal behavioral intervention plans for each consumer as determined by the ID Team and using non-aversive methods of intervention.
- Maintain daily data on behavioral objectives.
- Record attendance.
- Communicate with Program Manager and/or assigned contact twice daily, and as needed to report any concerns and/or incidents.
- Monitor and report any consumer health, behavioral, or medical conditions to the Program Manager or designated contact.
- Record mileage daily; must stay within 10 miles/day, unless otherwise approved by
Program Manager. - Proper handling of all equipment and/or chemicals used.
- Responsible for the safety of all consumers assigned.
- Attend staff and consumer meetings as assigned.
- Adhere to all safety and reporting requirements.
- Duties may also include providing direct care services to consumers enrolled in the
Alternative Senior Program Component and the Customized Endeavor Option Program
(CEO). - Must spend 75% or more of the work day providing direct care to consumers.
- All other duties and responsibilities assigned.
Requirements:
-High School diploma or equivalent. Specific experience with persons with behavioral issues and vocational training preferred; current CPI and First Aid, CPR, A.E.D. training.
- Must have a clean driving record, valid CA driver’s license, 2 years of driving experience, safe reliable transportation, and proof of current vehicle insurance.
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs. by self, up to 150 lbs. with one other person; able to push wheelchair with consumer up to one mile; standing, walking, sitting, pushing, bending, pulling required; squatting may be necessary.
- Proper handling/use of chemicals for cleaning and work crews as assigned, use according to manufacturer’s labeled instructions.
