Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Personal Injury Paralegal at Markarian Law Group, based in Yucaipa, CA, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements after introductory period. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Maintaining a caseload of approximately 50-60 personal injury files and manage cases from the point of filing a complaint to its resolution.
Independently handling the day-to-day calendaring of internal and external deadlines related to each case being managed with minimal supervision.
Developing case strategy and provide leadership and direction to case managers and intake specialists.
Regularly consulting with clients and third parties to effectively move cases forward and to a successful conclusion.
Performing monthly case reviews to ensure clients receive proactive communication at least once a month.
Putting client notes and case relevant details into the Case Management System.
Conducting intense point-related research and analyze case-specific legal issues to prepare documentation for the managing attorney.
Preparing legal documents such as complaints, government claims, motions, briefs, and memorandums of law for attorney to review and file or submit.
Reviewing or preparing responses to discovery demands.
Preparing for statements/ depositions/mediations/court proceedings.
E-filing all court documents in state and federal court.
Coordinating the service of summons and complaints.
Summarizing medical records and depositions transcripts.
Preparing trial binders and exhibits.
Conducting an evaluation for 998 offers at each stage of litigation.
Other tasks as requested by the attorney.
Qualifications:
Must have paralegal certification from an accredited institution, Associates or Bachelor’s degree
3-5 years of experience in personal injury law required
Paralegal certification from an accredited institution, Associates or Bachelor’s degree, preferred
Bilingual in Spanish or Arabic preferred
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Prior experience with Cloudlex case management system preferred
Intermediate proficiency level with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe preferred
